Hawaii Kai Ultra Run XTreme
About
Set against the vibrant backdrop of Hawaii Kai, this event offers ultramarathon options including 50K, 50 miles, 100K, and 100 miles. The scenic course features a 9-mile loop that guides runners through local neighborhoods, parks, and along picturesque streets, including the descent of Heartbreak Hill and visits to support stations positioned about every 2.5 miles. Each loop starts and finishes at Kalama Valley Park, creating a convenient base for endurance challenges of varying lengths. Participants benefit from well-stocked, environmentally conscious aid stations—this is a cupless event, so reusable hydration gear is required. Expect a welcoming, supportive atmosphere with an emphasis on sustainability and community spirit. The course provides a mix of road and gentle elevation, making it accessible while still offering a rewarding challenge for seasoned ultrarunners. All finishers are recognized for their efforts, and runners tackling the 50-mile, 100K, or 100-mile distances can use their performance to qualify for additional prestigious ultrarunning events.
