Frequently Asked Questions
What is the ULTRAboard?
The ULTRAboard ranks pro and non-pro runners based on accumulated racing load (ULTRA Index) and race performance strength (Performance Index).
What is the ULTRA Index (UI)?
UI is a measure of the racing load a runner has accumulated over the past 3 years. The better you do in more and harder races, the higher your UI.
What is the Performance Index (PI)?
PI is a measure of the strength of a runner's race performances over the past 12 months. The higher your place in a race, the higher your PI.
How do I get my name on the ULTRAboard?
To rank on the ULTRAboard you'll need to have an eligible race result in the last 3 years.
Eligible results include fixed-distance races that are 50K or longer, or standardised fixed-time races (6h, 12h, 24h, 48h). Backyard races, fixed-time races of arbitrary duration and races with fewer than 20 finishers are ineligible.
