Held at Clapp Park in Pittsfield, MA, the Sweltering Summer ultra event challenges participants on a certified .355-mile dirt and cinder track loop. Runners complete as many laps as they choose within eight hours, reversing direction at the halfway mark. The track allows use of its entire width, and runners may also run on the adjacent grass. On-course support includes individual table stations for easy bottle drops, a no-contact refill system for drinks, and personal crew setups along the track. The event is walker-friendly, accommodating all paces, and features cool treats and snacks throughout the day.
