Powderhorn Mountain Ultra and Vert Challenge

Powderhorn Mountain Ultra and Vert Challenge

Races

About

The race kicks off at the base of Powderhorn Mountain, winding through breathtaking aspen groves, evergreen trees, and picturesque meadows to reach the summit. Participants will tackle a challenging 10K loop that features a substantial 1,546 feet of vertical gain for each lap, ascending from an altitude of 8,287 feet to 9,839 feet. Athletes can choose between two options: accumulate distance on the loop course or focus on the Vertical Challenge, where runners ascend as many times as possible before taking the chairlift back down. Both routes deliver a blend of technical trails and stunning alpine vistas, ensuring an exhilarating experience for all participants. Expect well-stocked aid stations to provide support throughout the event, allowing you to harness the energy of volunteers and fellow competitors. After the race, unwind at the resort's base, where you can share stories and relish the scenic beauty of Grand Mesa.
