The FRED Running Relays bring teams together to tackle either 50, 100, or 200 miles along Michigan's picturesque White Pine Trail. The event showcases the natural beauty of the region, with runners traversing fully paved pathways through woodlands, countryside, and lakeside views, including the scenic area around Lake Cadillac. The trail, built on the former Grand Rapids - Indian Railway, offers a unique mix of history, charm, and endurance challenge as participants make their way across its extensive route. Designed as a collaborative relay adventure, each course is broken into manageable legs ranging from 2 to 9.5 miles, making logistical planning and teamwork a key element of the race’s atmosphere. Teams typically coordinate vehicles and runners to navigate the long distances and maximize rest, contributing to a lively and supportive relay experience.
