About
The Connemara 100 is a demanding ultra on Ireland’s wild west coast, built around a certified 100-mile road loop that starts and finishes in Clifden. The course rolls through some of Connemara’s most striking landscapes, passing places including Letterfrack, Leitirgesh, Maam Cross, Leenane, Roundstone, and Ballyconneely, with two journeys through the dramatic Inagh Valley adding to the race’s scenic pull. This is far from an easy tour of the region. Repeated climbs and descents make it a stern physical challenge, while the exposed, rugged setting adds to the sense of adventure. With its combination of tough road terrain, big scenery, and a route that demands sustained focus, the event has the atmosphere of a serious endurance test for athletes looking to measure both mental strength and staying power.
