The 50K follows smooth, rolling singletrack on a no-repeat course designed to keep the scenery changing from start to finish. After the opening section, runners head deeper into the trail system through Hawk, Hicks Creek, Norwood Creek, and Monbo before returning on the final loops to the finish near the Visitors Center. With approximately 1,600 feet of elevation gain, this is a runnable trail course that should appeal to runners chasing a fast day as well as those stepping up to the distance. The counterclockwise route offers a steady flow and a straightforward rhythm, while the varied loops and wooded setting give the race an energetic, constantly moving feel.
