The Pine Creek Challenge offers runners a scenic out-and-back course along a 25-mile stretch of the Pine Creek Rail Trail, set in Pennsylvania's stunning Pine Creek Gorge, often called the "Grand Canyon of the East." The gorge features dramatic views, towering cliffs, and abundant wildlife, including bald eagles and river otters, as it winds nearly a mile wide and 1,450 feet deep through a designated National Natural Landmark. The course is beginner-friendly, with a wide, well-maintained crushed stone surface and a gentle 2% grade, making it accessible while still offering distance-based challenges with up to 100-mile routes.
