The Underground Circus 100 takes you on the scenic Kennesaw Mountain Trail, passing by historic 18th-century homes, battle sites, and offering stunning sunrises and sunsets for those taking on longer distances. The course features a mix of trail terrain with rocks and roots, gravel roads, and relatively flat asphalt sections. Runners complete an 8-mile out-and-back route, with the option to run on either asphalt or adjacent grassy trail, both surrounded by beautiful wooded areas. Support is always on hand with staffed aid stations, indoor bathrooms at a nearby gas station, and easy access to local stores and eateries during the race. The race prides itself on a friendly, supportive atmosphere with the race director and volunteers keeping an eye on participants throughout. With clear course marking and minimal risk of getting lost, this is a welcoming challenge for both experienced ultrarunners and first-timers.
