This event offers ultra runners the chance to traverse Michigan’s lower peninsula from the shores of Lake Michigan to Lake Huron, featuring 100-mile and 100-kilometer point-to-point courses finishing in Alpena. The 50-kilometer ultra offers an out-and-back route from Alpena, designed with manageable cutoffs and excellent running surfaces. Participants will cover a mix of single-track trails, gravel roads, limestone paths, and seasonal roads, providing variety and scenic beauty throughout. Designed to be an inviting challenge for first-timers as well as seasoned ultrarunners, the course promises a rewarding experience while remaining approachable. Well-stocked aid stations are placed every 5 to 8 miles to ensure runners stay supported, and special recognition is available for those achieving key milestones on the 100-mile route.
